We provide catered mountain bike holidays in Malaga from our amazing Roost Ranch, a beautiful renovated 19th century farmhouse located in the Spanish countryside.
Our 7 bedroom (14 guests) accommodation is en-suite throughout with a large guest lounge, lush gardens, dirt jumps and more!
And you won’t go hungry with our big breakfasts, selection of day time snacks and hearty home cooked evening meals.
We have an enormous, secure bike storage/workshop on site, complete with bike wash (not that you’ll need it!). It is professionally equipped and has ample space and resources to deal with most mechanical tasks, including 5 bike workstands, a sturdy workbench with vice, electric drill, power supply etc. We also have highly competent mechanics on site who can help out in the event of a mechanical.
Wind down and rest up after a long day’s riding by taking a dip in our swimming pool or Jacuzzi! Alternatively take a leisurely stroll around our ranch’s extensive gardens and fruit trees, grab a beer and chill out on the terrace with panoramic views, or smash out a game of ping pong in the evening sun. Or if you’ve not had your fill of biking, push up to the top of the garden and hit the Backyard Trails until dusk!
Malaga boasts a huge area of massively varied, natural ridable terrain within striking (and sometimes spitting) distance of the Mediterranean sea. The trails are mostly natural, and have been developed from old hiking trails, providing an authentic and exciting MTB experience. DH or enduro: Whatever you’re into we have trails to suit you. Loose hardpack, slabrock, shale, pine forest loam, deep sand, jumps, drops, steeps and technical sections – this is probably the only place in Europe where you can ride all these things in a week!
The DH riding in Malaga is true downhill. It’ll test your limits and help take your riding to the next level! Our natural trails are littered with technical, exciting sections that many bike parks lack. Don’t worry about pushing up – our super-efficient trailer uplifts will take care of the ascending so you don’t have to. Expect to chase your mates down sandy corners, gnarly rock gardens, steep chutes, flat out sections, natural berms and more, then just dust your bike off at the end of the day!
Trail riders have the added advantage of reaching the higher, lesser known trails in the Spanish Sierras. Our trail package offers a wide variety of incredible tracks with a bit more pedal power required – don’t worry though, we still use our vans and bike trailers to get you as high as possible before setting off. The reward is breathtaking views, untouched remote singletracks for miles, a true sense of adventure and that smug feeling you get when you’ve hit some of the best real mountain bike descents in the world.
Malaga with it’s dry and warm climate is the perfect place for self-guided road cycling holidays and training camps. It features some of the most picturesque cycling routes in Europe which you can access direct from our doortsep via a network of stunning country roads. Test yourself on the famous climb up to Ronda or enjoy the sweeping hairpin turns down through beautiful Ojen. We can provide map advice and daily transport to and/or from riding locations on request.
Because there are no suitable chairlifts in Malaga we provide van-assisted uplifts to make sure you cover as much ground and get as much riding in as possible.
On an average day of trailer uplifts you can expect to get in at least 10 DH runs. We use 9 seater minibuses equipped with bike-specific trailers. Our trailers are quick, comfortable and safe – Everyone loads their own bike simultaneously, and this gets you up to the top of the trails faster, and allows more riding time. Each bike is kept securely in its slot using straps and emergency bungees so that no damage can occur during uplifts. Our vans are also always stocked with tools, track pumps and first aid equipment for your convenience.
Our drivers are also passionate bikers and experienced mechanics – if a rider picks up a mechanical issue that they can’t deal with then we all team together to fix the bike as soon as possible. Believe us, there are very few things that a fully loaded Roost van can’t cope with!
